Boil order lifted for Macomb, nearby communities

A boil order has been lifted on Friday morning for residents of Macomb, Colchester, Tennesee, Bardolph and Western Illinois University, according to a press release from the city of Macomb.

Residents had been under a boil order since early Wednesday morning, after a power outage on Tuesday damaged one of three water purifying systems at the city’s water plant. The city was previously under a conservation order that was also issued on Wednesday. The conservation order was lifted on Thursday afternoon.
