Local Chief Deputy retires after 38 years of service

Chief Deputy retiresThe McDonough County Sheriff’s Office is acknowledging a fellow officer this Wednesday for his 38 years of service.

Chief Deputy Randy Kunard retires May 1. Kunard began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in 1975 as a patrol deputy. Later, he represented the Western Illinois Task Force in 1986.

He spent 20 years on the Task Force investigating a number of high-level federal and local drug cases. Kunard was appointed Chief Deputy in 2007.
