County Health Department Calling for Businesses to Start Hanging No-Smoking Signs

The McDonough County Health Department is advising local business owners to start displaying No-Smoking signs.

no_smoking_sign_clip_art_23316This is following the 2008 Smoke Free Illinois Act which bans smoking indoors or within 15-feet of an entrance to a public building.

The department says it performed compliance checks at several non-food businesses and many did not displayed approbate signage.

Businesses who do not comply with the law will be fined.
