The McDonough County Health Department is advising local business owners to start displaying No-Smoking signs.
This is following the 2008 Smoke Free Illinois Act which bans smoking indoors or within 15-feet of an entrance to a public building.
The department says it performed compliance checks at several non-food businesses and many did not displayed approbate signage.
Businesses who do not comply with the law will be fined.
