EAST MOLINE, Illinois (NEWS3) – TBK Bank announced Friday, and held a news conference Tuesday, that it will donate its downtown East Moline branch to the East Moline Public Library.

The mid-century building, located at 1523 8th St., will be converted into a new state-of-the-art library.

“The new library will offer a state-of-the-art digital plaza with increased access to technology,” a statement from the East Moline Public Library read in a release from TBK Bank, “The programming we will be able to offer in the new facility will be in line with contemporary library services.”

The East Moline Public Library has been located in its current building, just across the street, for 84 years.
