RUSHVILLE, Ill. (NEWS3) — Scott Stoll will announce his Democratic candidacy for state representative of the 93rd District on Saturday.
Stoll has lived in Rushville for more than 10 years with his wife and three daughters.
He currently holds the position of Second Ward Alderman for Rushville City Council. Stoll is the chief operating officer of the healthcare provider, Moreland and Devitt Pharmacy in Rushville.
“As an Alderman, I have a proven record of investing in infrastructure developments, small businesses and fighting for our small-town values,” Stoll said in a press release.
Stoll is the founder of the Rushville Chamber of Commerce. He serves on the chamber’s board.
He also is also part of the Rushville Little League Board, Grow Rushville and Brown-Schuyler County CEO Board of Directors.
“But as we work to build strong communities in Western Illinois, I’m frustrated to see Springfield creating more problems than it’s solving,” Stoll said. “I will fight to reduce the tax burden on the middle class, bring good-paying jobs to rural communities and make health care more accessible and affordable, all in the name of lifting up working families.”
Stoll’s campaign announcement will be Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. at Benny’s Pizza in Rushville.
The other Democratic challenger in the 2020 race is Bushnell native, Emiliano Vera.
