MACOMB, Ill. (NEWS3) — Two residents were arrested on Wednesday during a traffic stop after police found drugs inside the car.
McDonough Country Sheriff Nick Petitgout said Daniel Ballard, 49, and Robin Ballard, 46, both of Adair, were charged with possession of drugs.
Petitgout said a deputy observed a white Ford pickup using improper lane usage and disobeying a stop sign on North 450th Road in Macomb in the early morning hours Wednesday.
According to police, the deputy noticed the male driver switch seats with the female passenger. The deputy identified the driver as Daniel Ballard who had a revoked driver’s license and Robin Ballard as the passenger.
The sheriff’s office reported that deputies located methamphetamine residue inside a metal container during a probable cause search of the vehicle.
Police said Daniel and Robin Ballard were both transported to the McDonough County Jail.
Both were charged with possession of less than 5 grams of Methamphetamine. Daniel Ballard was also charged with driving on a revoked license and disobeying a stop sign.
The sheriff’s said the Ballards posted bond after their bond hearing on Wednesday.
