MACOMB, Ill. (NEWS3) — The Western Illinois University School of Agriculture will host a cheesy cooking competition.
The WIU School of Agriculture’s Ag Council’s first ever ‘Mac ‘N Cheese Fest’ will take place for people to show off their cooking skills and see who can prepare the best mac and cheese dish.
Senior agriculture student Claudia Bland said the cook-off is planned as a way to switch-up from previous food-related events.
“We have been doing a chili cook off for three years and decided we wanted to change it up,” Bland said. “Mac and cheese is always a fan favorite. I have never met someone who didn’t love a good bowl of mac. It’s my favorite food, so I cannot wait to try all these different recipes.”
The ‘Mac ‘N Cheese Fest’ is Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Macomb American Legion. Tickets can be purchased for $5 in advance at Knoblauch Hall 145 or at the door for $6. Admission will include unlimited mac and cheese samples, desserts and drinks.
