Galesburg Police looking for alleged burglary suspect

GALESBURG, Ill. (NEWS3) — Galesburg Police are on the lookout for a man believed to be connected to a recent home burglary.

Police said they responded to the 1900 block of Newcomer Drive around 4 a.m. Thursday for a call of person who broke into a residence.

Authorities said the alleged burglar cut a window screen in the rear of the home and was able to make entry into the residence.

Police said the man was confronted by the homeowner after breaking into the home, but at some point he left the scene before police arrived.

Officials said the alleged suspect was described as a black male about 5’09” and around 140-150 pounds. Police said he was wearing faded blue jeans and a light grey pullover hoodie with the hood up.

Galesburg Police encourages the community to check their residence and garage to make sure all windows and doors are properly secured.
