Macomb Fire Dept. investigates house fire

MACOMB, Ill. (NEWS3) — Macomb Fire Department is investigating what caused part of a house to catch fire Saturday afternoon in Macomb.

Lieutenant Jake Lucas said crews received a call just before 3 p.m. for a structure fire on the 1000 block of East Adams Street.

Lucas said flames were coming from the rear of the two-story house when firefighters arrived on scene. The blaze started on the second floor in a bedroom and flames were seen coming out the window.

Crews were able to put out the fire shortly after arriving on scene and everyone in the house got out safely. Damage was sustained to the second floor.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
