MACOMB, Ill. (NEWS3) — Two men were arrested after a home invasion left one person injured in Macomb.
Macomb Police Chief Curt Barker said this all began after the Macomb/McDonough County Drug Unit was contacted by the Colchester Police Department for assistance on a package of cannabis that was delivered to a residence. Police then searched the area for the suspects believed to be involved. Authorities said there was approximately five pounds of cannabis delivered to the residence.

Law enforcement in the area saw the suspects’ vehicle leaving and alerted other responding units. Police believe the vehicle was headed back to Galesburg.
A McDonough County Sheriff’s Deputy located the vehicle at Tower Road and U.S. Highway 67. Macomb Police and McDonough County Sheriff’s Department followed the vehicle before making a felony traffic stop in Good Hope.
Police said Deal and Bates were taken into custody without incident.
Barker said a person inside the home on N. Clay St. was treated by McDonough District Hospital for minor injuries.
Deal was charged with aggravated battery, robbery, a Kentucky warrant for robbery and a Knox County warrant. Bates was charged with aggravated battery and robbery.
