Macomb resident arrested after allegedly hitting pregnant woman

MACOMB, Ill. (NEWS3) — Police arrested a Macomb woman after they said she hit a pregnant woman inside of a home Wednesday afternoon.

Macomb Police Deputy Chief Dave Burnham said officers responded to the 300 block of N. Sherman Ave. around 3 p.m. Wednesday for a domestic incident.

Police said Sydney Rowe, 22, of Macomb, used to live at the residence and went to retrieve some of her belongings. Rowe allegedly smashed out a window and entered the residence.

Burnham said once police arrived, they found Rowe yelling at another person inside of the residence. She allegedly hit a pregnant woman who was inside the home. Rowe was then told to step outside but refused and resisted officers.

Burnham also said when officers arrived on scene they noticed James Stevenson, 23, of Macomb, attempting to break a car window on the property. Police said Stevenson was trying to get the person inside the car to fight him. Stevenson lived at the home on N. Sherman Ave.

Police said no one received any medical treatment.

Rowe was charged with aggravated domestic battery, resisting police and criminal damage to the property. She is currently in the McDonough County Jail pending bond.

Stevenson was charged with disorderly conduct.
