GALESBURG, Ill. (NEWS3) — Safety measures will remain in place to one local government building due to recent actions taken to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
The City of Galesburg announced its city hall building, located at 55 W. Tompkins St., will remain closed to the public through the end of May.
Officials said the decision was made after Gov. J.B. Pritzker extended Illinois’ stay-at-home order through May 30.
Galesburg city employees will be available via phone and email while the office building is closed.
The Galesburg Public Safety Building lobby will only stay open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for emergency purposes in which business cannot be handled on the phone or through email.
