RUSHVILLE, Ill. (NEWS3) — Police say a boy who went missing from Rushville more than two weeks ago is now safe.
Rushville Police Chief Rick Wright told NEWS3, the 16-year-old African American male, who they alerted the public via Facebook went missing, is with a family member or friend.
It’s been more than two weeks since the department asked for the public’s help in looking for the boy since he was last seen in Rushville April 15.
Wright said after recently talking with the boy’s foster parent who lives in Rushville, police believe he is in the Peoria area with a relative.
The chief said the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is aware of his possible whereabouts. It’s unclear why or if this is the first time the boy has ran away from home.
