The county is now reporting three confirmed cases. This comes after Schuyler County Health Department (SCHD) announced Tuesday a man in his 40s tested positive for COVID-19.
The health department’s staff said they’re working to identify and monitor anyone who was in contact with the resident to reduce any additional exposure.
The county’s first case was reported April 8 after a woman in her 30s was confirmed with the virus. Health officials said the resident has since recovered.
Please remain vigilant about keeping germs from spreading by covering coughs and sneezes, washing hands with soap and warm water, and staying home when sick,” health officials said.
Officials urge residents to call their primary healthcare provider or the Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital’s COVID-19 nurse hotline at 217-322-5218 if they have any coronavirus-related symptoms. The hotline is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
