MACOMB, ILL. (NEWS3) – The Covid-19 pandemic has shaken up the sports world and Western Illinois University football fans are no exception.
With the Missouri Valley Football Conference Schedule releasing Thursday, Sept. 24, Leatherneck football is set to launch Friday, Feb. 20, 2021, on the road against South Dakota.
The Leathernecks then take on a rival, Illinois State, Saturday, March 6, at Hancock Stadium in Normal, Illinois.
Hanson Field will welcome its showpiece Saturday, March 13, as the Leathernecks face Northern Iowa for the first of four home games this season.
The team is back on the road Saturday, March 20, against South Dakota State in Brookings, South Dakota.
The Leathernecks return to Hanson Field for back to back home games, Saturday, March 27, against North Dakota and Saturday, April 3, against Youngstown State.
Leatherneck fans can tune in Saturday, April 10, as the team travels to Saluki Stadium, in which they will take on Southern Illinois in Carbondale, wrapping up the away schedule.
WIU’s season concludes Saturday, April 17, on the home turf against Indiana State.
