MACOMB, Illinois (NEWS3) — Western Illinois University held a virtual online bike race on Sunday, Oct. 18, to encourage students to get active hosted by the Donald S. Spencer Student Recreation Center.

Participants had the day to prepare and get ready for the challenge to complete the race. The 20-mile race was open to the public and had two participants.

Taylor Brooks “worked extremely hard [on this event] to think outside the box to implement and organize safe and virtual programs for the students at Western Illinois University,” Nick Knowles, director of campus recreation, said.
